Ocean Beach Pier is a combined unit of two upscale condos that are in the same building. The property has separate entrances, one downstairs and one upstairs.
Ocean Beach Pier 1, the downstairs condo, features one full bath and two bedrooms to comfortably sleep nine guests (six adults). The upstairs Ocean Beach Pier 2 is a studio, offering 2 queen beds and one full bath that sleeps five guests (four adults). Please note there is another condo in the same building, Ocean Beach Pier #3, that can sleep an additional four guests but is not included with this listing - please book it separately if you're traveling with a large group.
In total, these two combined beachfront condos sleep up to 14 visitors (12 adults) and three small dogs (25 pounds or less). Guests will rest easy after long days in the sun on two king beds, two queen beds, and futons for additional sleeping space. Convenience amenities like WiFi, partial AC (full in the upstairs unit), and designated parking spots will make guests feel right at home.
Groups will naturally congregate on the main level, which offers plenty of space to stretch your legs! Plot out the day's adventures in the living room that's stocked with cozy leather furniture, a desk, and media center. Serve shrimp cocktails and margaritas on the dining table for four or prep lunches for active families!
The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and plenty of cabinet space, ideal for large groups and extended stays. Beyond the living room is an enclosed patio with a bistro table. Whip out a deck of cards for a weekend tournament, or serve younger guests in the easy-to-clean space (thanks to tile floors)!
The upstairs portion of the home is a studio offering a well-designed living space and two beds. Unwind on the sofa overlooking the balcony and sea or catch up on your favorite shows on cable TV.
Host happy hour in the dining area boasting cozy upholstered seating. The inviting space is designed for slow-cooked meals and even better conversation! The kitchen is small but mighty featuring miniature, stainless-steel appliances including a refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher for easy meal prep.
Let the smell of the surf guide you outdoors to the private patio! Ocean Beach Pier features a patio on each level with bistro tables, a gas grill, and phenomenal views of the beach! Listen to the palm trees swaying in the breeze and waves crashing into the sand at sunset.
Enjoy morning coffee and sweet treats at Newbreak Coffee & Cafe, and unwind at night with a pint of beer at the Wonderland Ocean Pub right around the corner from your front door! Newport Avenue offers plenty of family-friendly eateries, and you'll need the fuel for days spent at the beach!
Play fetch with Fido at the famous off-leash Dog Beach or rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for waterfront adventure. San Diego's famous Gaslamp Quarter and Balboa Park are within 10 miles from this home so you can experience the very best big city attractions - and still make it back to a quiet abode.

No Smoking is allowed inside any of our properties. You are welcome to smoke in outside areas of the home.
For homes that allow pets there are certain rules that always apply. Pets are never to be left alone in the homes unattended. If you plan to spend time away from your pet please find a doggy daycare. You can call our office for recommendations.
Pet Fee: $40/Night
This unit is located across from the beach and in the Village area of Ocean Beach so you will have normal street noise and village noise. If this does not suit you, please do not rent this location.
This home is located adjacent to another unit so we ask our guests to respect those other guests and keep the noise level down to a minimum. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced.
Ocean Beach lies in the San Diego International Airport flight path for some departing flights. No planes can depart after 11:30 pm or before 6:30 am.
Laundry facilities will be located at the OB Hotel across the street. You have access to their coin laundry facilities.
Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting with La Jolla Vacation Rentals.
We are available 24/7 via email. Guests will also receive a number for emergencies after office hours.
House Rules
RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS:
Reservation requires payment of half of the “Total Rent” if reservation is made 15 or more days prior to your check-in. If you are reserving 14 days or less from your check in date then you will need to provide the entire balance to confirm booking.
“We do not permit any Airbnb Services or Experiences of any kind at this property. This includes third-party bookings made through the Airbnb Experiences platform.
Any guest who attempts to host or bring an Airbnb-related Service or Experience onto the premises without our prior written approval will have their reservation cancelled immediately, with no refund issued.”
RESPONSIBILITY
Guest hereby assumes all risk of damage to any and all personal property of Management and Guest, including household furniture, appliances and/or equipment, landscaping, flooring and goods during such use and occupancy. Guest hereby assumes any and all risks associated with the foregoing and agrees to hold Management and Owner harmless from and indemnify Management and Owner against the same.
PETS
For homes that allow pets there are certain rules that always apply. Pets are never to be left alone in the homes unattended. If you plan to spend time away from your pet please find a doggy daycare. You can call our office for recommendations.
Due to insurance reasons, we cannot allow the following breeds: Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Akita, Bullmastiff, wolf hybrids, Chow Chow or Pit Bull breads.
USE
It is agreed that the Premises shall be used only for residential purposes, and for no other purpose whatsoever. Guest in his possession, use and occupancy of the Premises agrees to observe and comply with all restrictions, laws and ordinances affecting the Premises or occupancy thereof. Guest further agrees that no use shall be made of the Premises, or acts done which will increase the existing rate of insurance upon the Premises, or will cause a cancelation of any insurance policy covering the Premises.
SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted in any residence.
EVENTS/PARTIES
Events and parties are strictly prohibited in all our properties.
{NO NEIGHBOR DISTURBANCES: When you book with La Jolla Vacation Rentals CA – the booking includes a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for noise disturbances, over occupancy or house parties. NOISE OR CONTRACT VIOLATIONS THAT CAUSE NEIGHBOR COMPLAINTS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EVICTION OF ALL OCCUPANTS WITH NO REFUNDS GIVEN.
HOLD HARMLESS: The undersigned Guest, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors and administrators, fully releases and discharges Manager and the Owner of the property from any and all claims, demands and causes of action by reason of any injury or whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to Guest, or any of his/her guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Manager and Owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising there from. Neither does Manager or Owner accept liability for any inconvenience arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, and electricity, cable and WIFI connection, outside construction noises, or plumbing.
CATASTROPHIC EVENTS & EMERGENCY EVACUATIONS:
If a catastrophe (hurricane, tornado, earthquake, flood, etc.) or any situation simply beyond our control impairs the vacation rental, La Jolla Vacation Rentals is not responsible for finding alternate lodging for the renter or for the renter's financial losses related to transportation or alternate lodging. There will be NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR EMERGENCY EVACUATIONS. Whether you own property, run a business, or rent a condo in San Diego, the threat of an earthquake, flood, or tsunami is always present during certain months of the year, and we all assume this risk. Therefore, we suggest you consider Travel Protection Insurance to secure your vacation investment and eliminate your financial risk. There will be no refunds of any kind for evacuations.
ADDITIONAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Guest, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges Manager/Owner from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of any injury or whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Manager/Owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising there from. In any action concerning the rights, duties or liabilities of the parties to this agreement, their principals, agents, successors or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.
• By state law, occupancy may not exceed what is posted for each home. Maximum occupancy includes infants and children.
• You must be 25 years of age or older to book a property with us and must accompany the occupants during the entire stay reserved.
• Noise ordinances are strictly enforced in all our properties. You must respect the surrounding neighbors and any loud noise after 10:00 pm. May necessitate law enforcement intervention which will terminate your contract and result in immediate removal from the property with no refund for any remaining nights still paid for.
• No Kegs allowed.
• No parties of any kind are permitted in our homes.
• No RV`s or Campers allowed on the premises.
• You must notify La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca immediately if any maintenance problems occur.
• No prior notice is required for La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca or its representatives to enter the property to make necessary repairs/inspection. La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca. will make every effort to notify Lessee prior to entering the property.
• You may not assign responsibility or sublet – you must be the intended occupant of the property during the entire stay.
• Any dog left unattended during your stay in either the home or the yard, and is barking or creating any nuisance will terminate your contract and result in immediate removal from the property with no refund given for any remaining nights paid for.
• For all properties governed by an association, Guest agrees to abide by all CCR's and Rules and Regulations provided by the association.
• Legal Fees. In the event of any legal action by the parties arising out of this Agreement, the losing party shall pay the prevailing party's reasonable attorneys fees and costs in addition, to all other awarded relief.
CHECK IN & AMENITIES:
Unless specified, check-in time is after 4:00 p.m., and checkout by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure. All properties represented by La Jolla Vacation Rentals CA come fully equipped with television(s), linens, dishes and utensils and an initial supply of soap and paper goods. Other amenities vary per property.
CONDITION OF RENTAL:
The property shall be in the same condition upon departure as at check-in. Normal wear and tear excepted. Owner or its agents may enter the property at reasonable times to make repairs or provide maid service. Guest may cook in areas specifically designated for cooking. Guest must immediately notify Owner or agent of fire or other damage to property. Guest shall be liable for all acts of the family, invitees, employees, or other persons invited onto the property. Guest may not sublet or assign this rental agreement. Guest shall be responsible to return all keys and gate or garage door openers upon departure. Guest shall abide by the House Rules of the Owner, Property Manager, Condominium Association and/or the Booking Agent as provided to Guest. Guest will not smoke indoors. Guest will rinse feet of sand prior to entering the unit. No parties shall be allowed without prior consent. Additional charges may apply. No catering or outside music permitted without prior consent, additional charges may apply. Guest shall not permit any use of pool or Jacuzzi by unsupervised children or other guests, and shall keep gates closed. Guest and other invitees shall use the pool and Jacuzzi at their own risk. Guest understands that there are certain inherent risks to person and property located adjacent to the ocean or to a golf course, including the possibility of drowning or being struck by a golf ball. Guest acknowledges that the owner would not rent the property unless the Guest accepted this condition.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
Under no circumstances shall Manager/Owner be responsible for any loss, expense, damages, claims or injury direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise whatsoever, howsoever caused or incurred whether arising in contract or otherwise in law or equity as a result of rendering of the services or accommodations as described or substituted and including, without restricting the generality of the foregoing as a result of any delay(s), substitution(s), rescheduling(s) or change(s) in the provision of services or land accommodations by La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca or by reason of military actions, revolution or acts of God, government agencies, or unforeseen circumstances or events, by any agents, owners, employees, subcontractors, servants or services as substituted; La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca, at all times will act in good faith and use its best efforts to substitute with accommodations or services of a type as comparable as possible to those contracted. La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca will not be liable under any circumstances, including substitutions, to refund any unused portion of booked accommodations or services. Some activities in which guests engage are especially dangerous and include scuba diving, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, boating, golfing, swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, hiking, biking and mountain climbing. This list is not all-inclusive, but indicates some of the hazards of vacationing in San Diego. Guests may also encounter the following risks: slippery floors and stairs, especially when wet, lanais with spaces between rails (dangerous for little children), precipitous drop-offs on ocean floor, unfenced pools, faulty electrical or plumbing systems, gas BBQ grills, clean/clear sliding glass doors, and dangerous stairs or pathways, Therefore, each guest agrees that he/she is voluntarily participating in any and all activities, risks, and use of the accommodations, and hereby assumes all risk of injury, illness, damage or loss to person and property that might result, including, without limitation, any loss or theft of personal property. By booking this rental, you acknowledge that in all events and circumstances, La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca, its officers and employees shall not be liable. La Jolla Vacation Rentals Ca reserves the right to cancel or rescind any rental agreement if it is found that the Guests are conducting unlawful activities, not abiding by the Home Owners Association House Rules, disturbing others by playing loud music, percussion, audio or instruments, or cause any loud or offensive noises, have made any misrepresentations about the nature or size of the group or use of the group or the use of the property or any other misrepresentations or any other way in breach of the rental agreement.
INSURANCE:
You understand that our insurance does not cover your belongings or damage that you cause. You agree that we are not responsible for any loss or damage during the term of the rental agreement. You agree to carry insurance covering all of your personal property located in the unit or bear full responsibility for its damage including damage from fire, water, theft, or any cause.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
I/we, the undersigned, hereby apply for the above listed accommodation and warrant that I/we have read, understand and agree to the terms and conditions of this Vacation Rental Agreement, and I/we agree to abide by homeowners/agents/association restrictions on use of said property. I/we further understand and represent that I/we are executing this application on behalf of all parties named on the guest list.
